Description

Turner and colour !

The special issue of Connaissance des Arts accompanies the exhibition's subject matter by studying Turner's particular relationship to color, his attachment to a naturalist rendering and his taste for technical experimentation. Approximately 35 of the master's watercolors, gouaches and oil paintings are reproduced here, ranging from classical landscapes to stormy seashores and extraordinary sunsets. Five works commented at the end of the issue allow a better understanding of the evolution and subtleties of his art.
